Halifax-based QuickFacts has been named Best InsurTech at the 2025 Insurance Brokers Association of Ontario (IBAO) Awards.
Co-founded by Christy and Jeff Barsalou, QuickFacts offers a platform that lets insurance brokers view packages from competing insurers side by side for easy comparison. The company says it can reduce the time brokers spend searching for information by 10 to 20 times. It also says the platform offers brokers more depth of information than competitors.
“Winning the IBAO Best InsurTech award is a reflection of our entire team …Every feature we build, every client relationship we nurture, comes from that shared drive to make a difference in this industry,” said Christy Barsalou, President and CEO.
Generative AI has opened up how information flows through the industry, from underwriting and claims to client service, the company said online.
QuickFacts sees potential in building on its existing AI tools to reduce the friction in brokers’ daily work and give them clearer, faster access to what they need to serve clients. The goal is to strengthen the broker's role by building technology shaped by the people who use it every day, the company said.
In September, QuickFacts was chosen to attend InsurTech NY’s InsurTech Match program in New York.
A member of the Atlantic FinTech community, the company raised $2 million in August 2024, and the Barsalous identified New York as the beachhead for their U.S. expansion.
